Supportive Therapies
Supportive therapy is used to manage symptoms and minimize complications whenever possible. As treatments become available, supportive therapy will continue to be an important part of managing Pompe disease.

While these multidisciplinary approaches cannot generally alter the disease course, they may impact quality of life. Physicians play an important role in coordinating the care for Pompe patients and should be consulted whenever adjunctive care is implemented.
Multidisciplinary Care
To devise a full spectrum of supportive therapy, consultation with a respiratory therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and/or registered dietician may be warranted.
